Hans Christian Rylander


Hans Christian Rylander (1939) is a Danish painter, He uses an expressive and surreal style, in the 70's and 80's with a critical edge towards society. Rylander has exhibited his works at the Randers Museum of Art, at Storstrøms Kunstmuseum, and at Vejle Museum of Art. A major commission was the decoration in Christian IV's Supply Depot at Slotsholmen in Copenhagen. Rylander received the Eckersberg Medal in 1984.

Hans Christian Rylander's paintings and sculptures, sometimes linked to one piece of work, are characterized by expressiveness and solved surrealism, inter alia. Hans Christian Rylander received the Eckersberg Medal in 1984. He has had several separate exhibitions, including At the Randers Art Museum (1995) and Storstrøms and Vejle Kunstmuseum in 2004, the same year as he finished the almost 100m long decoration of Provianthuset, Christiansborg.
