Pierrotage is a construction technique used in New France ( Canada and Acadia ) and in French Louisiana . This method involves filling the space between two wooden retaining posts with stones set between half-timbering .
The technique
Pierrotage is the construction technique that helps strengthen the walls of a building by using stone or brick. Stones or bricks are embedded one on top of the other and embedded between the posts on sole or earthen posts with the use of long wood or short wood as appropriate.
The half-timbered pierrotté
Once the stones are so arranged, start the burring that will infiltrate the mud made of mud , straw , clay or Spanish moss between the stones to smooth the whole and allow the exterior and interior finish of the house.
