State Military Historical Museum "Prokhorovskoe Pole" - is a multifunctional complex, which includes a variety of objects that serve to perpetuate and promotion deeds committed during World War II. The memorial complex on the tank field is a vast landscaped area located on it with memorial buildings and monuments, the main monument of the Victory - Belfry.
On the territory of the Museum-Reserve “Prokhorovskoe Pole” created in 1995 on the place of the grand tank battle in the village of Prokhorovka of the Belgorod region started the construction of the Museum of Armored Vehicle. Until recently, on the basis of the “Prokhorovskoe Pole”, was functioning only the Museum of the Military Glory of the Third Russian Inverse field. Thanks to the new museum item, will appear the opportunity to create not only the true picture of unprecedented tank battle on July 12, 1943 but also show in retrospective the whole history of the creation of combat tracked vehicles, starting with sketches which were developed by genius Leonardo da Vinci in the XV century for his contemporaries, ending with modern military conquests of was design idea.
On the territory of the future Museum will be placed the tank-training area for the demonstration of the latest models of armored vehicles, restoration workshops, where historic battle vehicles will be restored, as well as art galleries, 3D movie theatre for 100 seats, museum expositions, dedicated to talented scientists, design offices, tank factories, legendary tankers, 17 of who were awarded twice the title Hero of the Soviet Union and much more.
